Our team
This training will be hosted by a team of experienced and emerging Art of Hosting practitioners coming together to offer their practice and experience to build capacity on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
We all look forward to welcoming you, your curiosity, your projects and your contributions. |
Jane GeltchI am a participatory process host, and steward of the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter.
I love working with organisations moving to next stage ways of working, and am a student of the new paradigms emerging for a more connected, compassionate future. I see my work with Purpose Partners as co-creation - working with others to bring new ideas to life. I have a growing conviction that empathy, compassion and forgiveness are the keys to a meaningful life. I love hosting and nourishing others on their path as they host and nourish me. |
Mel GeltchI'm a participatory designer, host and harvester of conversations work that matters.
The principles and practices of the Art of Hosting and self organising human systems support me in my work and life. I am committed to stewarding these practices and building capacity wherever it is invited. I care deeply about co-creating workplaces, communities and systems where people can thrive. I’m a co-founder of Campfire Co-op, a collective of people doing purposeful work, and a place for practicing a more human way of doing business, and for learning about ourselves and each other. |
Fiona MalcolmI am a passionate and committed creative social work practitioner with strong foundations in community development practice and process that guides my approach to work. At the centre of this practice is a belief in the power of intentional relationships; seeking them out, nurturing them, committing to them, and connecting them between people.
I am an experienced practitioner of participatory process, design and harvesting. Through my work with Purpose Partners I love crafting opportunities for all voices to be heard, in the spaces that are important to them, and particularly for those who are impacted the most by policy and programs. |
Laura BarnesI have nearly 30 years experience working across government and non-government sectors to support change for individuals, organisations and communities.
I use collaborative change and participatory practice and principles in my work both externally and internally within teams and organisations. I am a student of systems change theory, honing my learning through my daily practice as I establish my own business supporting a range of policy and systems change projects across Australia. |
Lee BanfieldI am currently the Operations Manager at Coast2Bay Housing Group based on the Sunshine Coast. I have worked in the housing sector for over 30 years and have been with Coast2Bay Housing since 1996.
Coast2Bay Housing Group is an independent, not-for-profit company committed to providing affordable safe and appropriate homes to individuals and families throughout the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Moreton Bay, Redcliffe and Gympie regions. I am a beginning practitioner of the Art of Hosting and passionately believe that we need a new way of working across the sector. I believe the practice offers us this, and I want to build capacity within my teams, our tenants and our communities to ensure everyone has a voice and an opportunity to make real changes and choices in their lives and work. |
Nick TakavadiiI love it when people are truly collaborating.
I stumbled onto the Art of Hosting in 2006 at Kufunda Learning Village in Zimbabwe and from then on, participatory practices have been at the core of how I show up when engaging in personal, business and community projects. My career background is in leading cross functional software systems design and consulting teams. Combining the Art of Hosting practices and the Agile values and principles brings meaning and results to my work. I really love my work at Campfire Co-op where we practice self organisation and offer guidance to those embarking on the much needed movement towards transformative participatory and generative ways of working. |
Talulah Malcolm I am currently studying social work and embarking on the journey of becoming an emerging practitioner.
I have worked within the Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations the Matter space for almost 4 years now. In my first training, I knew that my foundational practices were not only valid but also shared. There were other people in the world who sought to create meaningful spaces and hold meaningful conversations, that allows for meaningful change. During these four years I have attended numerous trainings and worked alongside Purpose Partners. Something that I continue to remind myself in the space of Art of Hosting is that things do not have to be the way that they are. Doing more of what works, and less of what doesn’t, moves spaces from being stagnant into the energetic. |
Tim BurnsI'm a purposeful and playful connector of people and love participating in powerful processes! I also like alliteration by the looks!
I'm a beginner practitioner in the Art of Hosting and am constantly awed by the depth and meaning that emerges from the potent focus of intentional stewardship. In my day job I work for Sunshine Coast Council in the Community Planning and Development team where we are collectively committed to exploring, nurturing and learning how to host conversations that matter. By night I'm a super hero with the special power of being invisible when no one is looking at me. |
